The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton is a big, fat juicy read...perfect for long, late-winter evenings. The story begins with a toddler being taken on board a ship and told to hide and not tell anyone her name by a woman she knows only as "The Authoress." The Authoress never returns and the little girl sails from England to Australia all alone.

The book reveals her story through multiple points of view and over several generations, unfolding more and more of the mystery.

The Forgotten Garden may seem a little confusing at first, but stick with it and you will be rewarded with a fascinating page-turner, one of those "I couldn't put it down and stayed up all night to finish" books.
