The 1st book in the Tender Ties series, "A Name of Her Own," takes you on a voyage into the mind, heart and soul of Marie Dorion. It is the early 1800's and Marie's husband is a French/Canadian interpreter aiding adventurers in a direct route to the Pacific Ocean.
Marie refuses to be left behind with their two sons to raise alone so she joins her husband on the journey that will prove just how strong a womans' courage can be to survive and keep her sons and unborn child alive. Because of bad choices by expedition leaders they are left to wander in the wilderness where she has to search her soul for the courage to do what she must.
If you love historical fiction based on true historical events I can safely say that you will love this book!
